Gangtok,27th July: CM PS Tamang opened a box of treasure of facilities and ease of life for Chalaks on their special day .The auditorium echoed with ‘ Jai Golay’ and ‘ Jindabad’.
” Now the Two Wheelers can have fog light,” announced CM PS Tamang,here today He was addressing the gathering at Manan Kendra on 7th Sarathi Day programme.The step has been taken to redress the grievances put up by Sarathis recently during Rankey Mela participating in the Sarathi Procession.They informed CM that at times they take tourists to Nathula,Gurudongmar and such places covered with fog ,making it difficult for them due to Fog Light less 2 Wheeler.
Secondly the Namchi Chalaks requested for digital documents to be accepted.
According to CM ,’Chalaks will be allowed carrying digital documents and why should not they do so in 21st century?He said that all other Chalaks will also can carry their documents digitally in their mobile phones.
CM Tamang was pleased to announce some reduction in the total payment ,Chalaks are expected to pay as per Artificial Intelligence Traffic Management system ,in the past .’ The AI traffic management has to be there.Even centre has been asking us to do so.But ‘ I have directed the concerned authorities to ensure that Chalaks don’t face trouble due to it.We have made a scheme reducing the fine you were to pay and extended the time limit also,’ said CM.He advised them to be careful and do things properly so that the question of fine does not take place
CM announced that many Govt vacancies are there for Chalaks .These are also caused due to new appointments like those of OSDs,Chairpersons and Advisers .They would be getting vehicles so the vacancies.But we will recruit through a different process for you people.Further 27Thousand other employees would be regularised that also will create some posts in August-Sept’.12 Chalaks were given Cars to make them self depende
CM further announced that now onwards at Hospital dara stoppage pick up will be allowed in addition to dropping passengers.It was brought to his notice that only dropping is permitted.So ,he said it hardly take any time if you are dropping just pick up also.’
CM announced Medical Insurance for Chalaks.
The Chalaks have been given facilities available to others and they have been made part of every welfare schemes in the State ,said CM.
