Siliguri, 29 November 2025 : The much-awaited literary programme organised by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, in collaboration with Buk-Ant Publication House, Siliguri*, was successfully held on 29 November 2025 at the auditorium of Buk-Ant Publication House, Siliguri.
Shankardev Dhakal, presided over the programme, attended it all the way from Sikkim,.He is also the
Convener, Nepali Language Advisory Committee, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. Padma Shri Dr. Eklavya Sharma, eminent scientist, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and delivered a comprehensive and inspiring keynote address encompassing all three sessions. The event concluded with thoughtful closing remarks by the Chairperson, Shri Shankardev Dhakal, who emphasised the vital role of such literary gatherings in fostering the exchange of ideas, connecting writers with society, and contributing to the broader development of Nepali literature.
Among the distinguished guests present were: Dr.Siddhiraj Sharma ; Mrs. Asha Mukhia Lama and Mr. *Raja Puniani*, Buk-Ant Publication House, Siliguri. The entire event was smoothly anchored by Ms. *Manisha Bhandari*.
The day-long event brought together distinguished poets, noted writers, scholars and literature lovers from the region in a heartfelt celebration of Nepali language and literature.
The programme featured three enriching sessions: *Nepali Poets’ Meet*; *Meet the Author* and *People and Book*. The event commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and a warm welcome address by Smt. *Asha Mukhia Lama*, Member, Nepali Language Advisory Committee, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.
In the lively *Nepali Poets’ Meet*, young and promising poets Ms. *Muskan Lakandri*, Mr. *Ajit Biswa*, Ms. *Regina Subba*, Ms. *Meri Lepcha* and Mr. *Prajjwal Thapa* presented their original Nepali poems to enthusiastic applause from the packed audience.
The *Meet the Author* session honoured senior Siliguri-based litterateur Mr. *Yuwaraj Kaflay*. A special publication documenting his life and works was formally launched and distributed to the audience. Mr. Kaflay delivered his insightful speech on his literary journey.
The *People and Book* session featured renowned neurologist and writer Dr. *Siddhiraj Sharma*, who shared his unique experiences at the intersection of medicine and literature, inspiring the gathering with his thoughts on creativity and healing.
