Gangtok: 1st March :A dead crow was fpund near Namchi Bazaar. AHVS Department officials visited the site and disposed off the carcass,which was said to be in the advanced stage of decomposition.Due to it laboratory confirmation could not be done.
Few days back similar case had taken place and a pigeon was found dead
Concerned Deptt has generated public awareness .And also carried out awareness through miking in and around the locality, sensitizing residents about avian influenza (bird flu). The department has urgesd citizens not to panic and to immediately report any unusual bird mortality to the nearest veterinary of the incident.
