Gangtok/Darjeeling:25th Feb : ‘ A highly productive consultative meeting for the “2026 BJP Manifesto” was successfully held in Darjeeling today. The session saw participation from a wide cross-section of dedicated voices from the hills, to ensure the manifesto truly reflects the aspirations of the people of our Darjeeling region,’ said MP Darjeeling Raju Bista.
The meeting was attended by elected Darjeeling Municipality Councillors, Darjeeling District BJP members, Ex-Army Group, Women Representatives from BJP, and the energetic Youth of Darjeeling.
‘This diverse gathering showcases the inclusive excercise though which BJP is collecting the concerns and aspirations of the people from our region.’
‘The deliberations were guided by two senior national BJP leaders, Dr Swapan Dasgupta , former MP -National Executive Member, and Dr. Anirban Ganguly , Chairman of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation and National Executive Committee Member. Their presence added immense value and direction to the discussions.’
‘Consultation at grassroots highlights that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi , the BJP is committed to building a manifesto that comes directly from the people. Meeting the collective aspirations of the people from our Darjeeling Hills, Terai, Dooars, and ensuring Re-inclusion of 11 Left-out Gorkha sub-tribes as Scheduled Tribes remains our top priority. ‘
‘Along with this ensuring the Parja Patta rights of our tea garden and cinchona garden workers, forest villages and DI Fund land residents, and higher wages for tea garden and cinchona garden workers will be ensured. Employment for youth, meaningful engagement of ex-servicemen, women empowerment, sustainable tourism development, promoting local entrepreneurship, and ensuring the hollistic development of the region will be prioritised.’
