Gangtok/ Jorethang: 16th Jan:The Department of AYUSH, Government of Sikkim, has initiated AYUSH Health Check-up Camps from 14th January 2026 as part of the ongoing Maghey Sankranti Mela–2026 at Main Jorethang Bazar (Jorethang–Nayabazar).
The AYUSH Health Camp is being conducted at Departmental Stall No. 17, located at Main Jorethang Bazar, where free consultation and check-up are being provided by qualified doctors of Ayurveda, Homoeopathy and Sowa Rigpa (Amchi) systems of medicine. The Department is also offering free AYUSH medicines, free blood sugar testing, free haemoglobin testing, and distribution of IEC materials to promote awareness on preventive and promotive healthcare.
Since the commencement of the camp on 14th January 2026, more than 200 patients have already benefited from the various free services provided by the Department of AYUSH.
The AYUSH stall was visited by Health Minister G.T. Dhungel, along with the Secretary, Advisor, Chairman and OSD of the Department of AYUSH. The Minister appreciated initiative taken by the Department to provide holistic and people-centric healthcare services during the Mela and suggested creating awareness for the prevention of epilepsy and other Non communicable diseases.
The Department of AYUSH has appealed to all visitors attending the Maghey Sankranti Mela till 22nd January 2026 to visit Stall No. 17 and avail the wide range of AYUSH services, which are being provided completely free of cost for the benefit of the general public.
The Department remains committed to strengthening holistic health and wellness and ensuring accessible AYUSH services for all.
