¥Sikkim CM PS Tamang has greeted people on the occasion of Paddy transplantation festival.
CM in a message has said ,’On the auspicious occasion of Asar 15, I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all Sikkimeli parents, brothers and sisters, as well as to the respected community residing in different places of the world related to this festival.’
‘Asar 15 holds a distinct cultural, social and economic importance in our traditional agricultural culture. We are traditionally celebrating this day as the main season of paddy cultivation begins, through song-music, mutual support, and intimate connection with the soil. The tradition of planting is not only agricultural work but also an opportunity to express faith towards collectiveness, hard work and culture.
As Sikkim’s Nepali community along with other communities are also promoting mutual harmony, cooperation and tolerance through this festival, Ashar has become a symbol of the common cultural heritage of 15 states.’
