‘ Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam’ call by PM Modi being followed in Sikkim: PS Tamang CM
Gangtok,14th July:Chief Minister PS Tamang emphasising the ongoing schemes for conservation of environment in the State ,said ‘ Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘s call to plant a tree in the name of mothers,has been implemented ,here.I have been planting tree in the presence of my mother since last year ,dedicated to her.’He was addressing the gathering at the Valedictory programme of ‘Paryavaran Parv’ ,organised by the Forest Deptt.
CM disclosed that with the tree plantation programmes ,linked to Environment day,families and our roads with a tree each dedicated to mothers have had a good impact .The birds have started chirping around,AIR is clean ,road from Soreng to Chakhung amazingly beautiful.There are many more good results’
CM in a very convincing way stressed on planting more trees on the roadside as part of ‘Mero Rukh Mero Bato, Mero Rukh Mero Santati’ and Ek Ped Maa ke Naam.He was pleased to disclose that Sikkim boasts of increase in the forest cover .This would help further in environment conservation.’
