Gangtok:12th March: An exciting opportunity awaits the Film Makers of Sikkim.
Film Baazar now officially known as the WAVES Film Baazar, will be hosted here at the forthcoming 57th International Film Festival India.Its to give opportunity to professionals in the field to have one to one discussions,attend workshops ,training sessions.This time Film Maker Imtiaz Ali will be taking the masterclass,here.The Waves Film Baazar is held along with the IFFI.
‘All the local film makers are invited to participate in the programme and interact with the film producers and others,’ said Chairman IPR Ashit Rai,announcing the WAVES market here
Secretary IPR also Director of the event said here today ‘ The SIFF market will be held from 20th March , in the presence of film producers, actors and others associated with the art. Our film producers can pitch their work to International,domestic and all related and avail of the opportunity. We have been aiming at boosting creative economy .’
‘ Its not only aimed at capturing images( photography) and glamour but encouraging film production.Distribution opportunities and relevant partnership will also be offered. Participants at Chintan Bhawan on 20th will get an opportunity to discuss film making related matter also,’ added Annapurna Alley Secy.
Communication Head of the Festival,Y Tamang,said,’Youngstets here will get opportunity to interact with industry professionals and inspiration to pursue career in the field .
Marker & Programme Director Nitesh Rohit,said the Sikkim can become important destination for Nepali content. Local film makers are actors etc need not go all the way to Bombay they will be getting opportunity through the Film Baazar to discuss and get mentor here. This will be a stepping stone for Nepali films.
