
- Bihar Polls -26: Public can file claims & objections from 1st Aug to 1st Sept 2025
Gangtok on 5th July::Election Commission of India in has announced that any member of public can file claims and objections in line with article 326 , section 16 and 19 of the Representation of the People ACT in 1950.
Making things easier for the concerned to it has been said, ‘The public can file claims for inclusion or raise objections to existing entries in the Draft. No deletion will be made without due inquiry and providing the concerned person a fair hearing. Daily lists of claims and objections will be displayed at the EROs offices and published on the Chief Election Officer’s website.Weekly updates will be shared with political parties. Formal ER will be prepared after disposing of claims and objections.
The final Electoral Roll will be prepared
on the 30th September 2025. Hard and soft copies will be given free of cost to all recognised political parties and published on ECIs website.
Any Electoral aggrieved by the decision of the ERO ,may appealed to the District Magistrate u/s 24(a) of the RP ACT,1950 in within the 15 days of the order.A further appeal may be preferred to the CEO’s office under 24(b),if the Elector remains dissatisfied ,within 30 days of the order.
The EC urges all eligible citizens in Bihar ,to participate actively in this special drive to ensure no voter is left(NN).
