EPFO Gangtok Holds PMVBRY Awareness Workshop at ICFAI University
Gangtok, October 7:
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Gangtok conducted an awareness workshop on the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgaar Yojana (PMVBRY) for management students of ICFAI University today. The session aimed to inform students, who will soon join private companies and firms, about various social security benefits and employment incentives under the scheme.
EPFO officials explained the objectives of PMVBRY, which encourages job creation in the formal sector by providing government support to employers for hiring new workers. Students were also briefed on Provident Fund, Pension and Insurance benefits, and guided on using online services such as UAN activation and the UMANG App.
EPFO Gangtok announced that a special PMVBRY Mela Day will be held at Sikkim Manipal University on 9th October 2025. The event will focus on spreading awareness about the scheme among students and employers, and encouraging establishments to register and avail the benefits.
Such outreach programmes by EPFO are part of its ongoing efforts to promote social security and employment-related schemes among youth and stakeholders in Sikkim.
