Sikkim Akademy President SR Subba releases Demise of Originality translated Version of Amar Baniya’s Maanawa
Gangtok,2nd Dec:(Nita Nirash):The Demise of Originality translated by Educationist cum Literateur,Dal Singh Akela was released , today. At the programme organised by Sikkim Akademi, here President Academy S R Subba released the book, joined by other poets and authors , including former Minister B M Ramudamu,KN Sharma, P Shrestha and P Khaling.
President Sikkim Akademy,SR Subba appreciated the dedication of Baniya to literature .About the language he said ‘ It is felt that not much is being done in the language (nepali).Let people give more importance to ‘bhasha’ ,so that we don’t need going to courts about language.We should know our llanguage and work accordingly
The book ‘Maanaw’ originally written in Nepali has been translated by Dalsingh Akela in English.The book edited by Gehendra Priyadarshi Pradhan, is priced at Rs 300/- and is available at Rachna Book Store.
The book releasing programme was made further attractive by recitation of self composed poems by the guests. Those who recited poems include Pradyuman Shrestha, Usha Sharma,Amber Gurung, Jivika Ashru and Prabin Khaling. While, Dr Manorath Dahal, recited instantly composed two humorous poems.
Amar Baniya Lohoro ,the original author of the book in Nepali – Maanaw’,shared his experience and how he came in touch with Akela,who could not attend today due to sickness.
Earlier,General Secretary Sikkim Akademy Pushpa Lal Sharma welcomed the guests.Purna Yonjan Secretary SA was also actively present.
