Gangtok:23rd Feb: A young man aspiring to contribute towards clean and Green Sikkim as well as to generate awareness , has been doung so practically. Dawa Tshering Lepcha from Chakhung,started his cleanliness campaign on 20th from his home place and reached Gangtok on 20th.
Speaking about Dawa Lepcha Minister for Forests& Environment,Bhutia said, ‘The man has been going around the whole State, collecting garbage himself. It is not only one individual ‘s responsibility but every citizen’s. Whatever garbage he finds he collects himself and dumps it .As the Minister for F& E I hereby thank him on behalf of the Forest deptt and Govt.His noble activities wont be wasted.It will be a huge inspiration for others .May he have good health,’ said Minister after meeting Lepcha at MG Marg today.He appreciated the noble cause ‘ keeping Sikkim’s Clean and Green, ‘ being focused on by the youth is like showing a good path to orhers, he added.
Dawa himself also said that he has already done his part in Chakhung,Jorethang and Melli.His team consisting of drivers sucessfully dumped the garbage collected from those places in Melli dumpung geound.He has also done cleanliness for shops and advised the shopkeepers.He came to Gangtok after learning from social media that Tourists were littering the Capital.Now he is ob with his work.And appeals everyone to keep Sikkim clean as far as always.
