Gangtok:4th Feb: CM PS Tamang addressing the unprecedented gathering in Rangpo today said, ‘4th February stands as a historic and unforgettable day, not only for me, but for every brave revolutionary who ignited the flame of change. This rare and defining moment did not merely transform our individual lives, it reshaped the destiny of Sikkim itself.’
Fourteen years ago, a small spark was lit by the courageous revolutionaries of the “Golay Khema”. What began as a humble act of resistance soon grew into a powerful people’s movement, one that brought an end to a tyrannical rule that had placed itself above the law and above the will of the people.
On this solemn and proud occasion, I bow my head in heartfelt tribute to our martyrs and express my deepest gratitude to every comrade who stood firm in the face of adversity. Your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering determination carried the revolution forward and made this historic transformation possible.
Let me say this with absolute clarity: this was not a movement created by us, it was a movement created by the people of Sikkim. This day belongs first and foremost to them. From the depths of my heart, I thank the people of Sikkim for their immense love, trust, and blessings, which have been my greatest source of strength.
Today, I wish to state one truth clearly and unequivocally: our revolution has not stopped. Attaining power was never the ultimate aim of our struggle. The true and enduring objective of our revolution is the transformation of the system, to ensure justice, dignity, and opportunity for every citizen.
The SKM era has already begun in Sikkim. We are determined not merely to govern, but to serve with vision, integrity, and continuity. We aspire to become one of the longest-serving governments in the nation. This is my commitment, and this is my guarantee.
On this significant day, I formally announce the launch of the SKM Party’s campaign for 2029. Our mission is clear, focused, and resolute:
Target – 573 Booths.
In the 2029 elections, our goal is not only to win 32 out of 32 seats, but to secure victory in all 573 out of 573 booths across Sikkim. Our competition is no longer with parties struggling for survival. Our true challenge lies within ourselves to surpass our own achievements and raise the bar higher than ever before.
I warmly welcome all those who have joined the SKM Party, inspired by our ideals and our people-centric approach to governance. Your faith strengthens our collective resolve to build Sunaulo, Samriddha ani Samartha Sikkim. SKM remains firmly committed to inclusive politics where equality, dignity, and respect are guaranteed for all, without discrimination of any kind.
As we celebrate the 14th Foundation Day of the SKM Party with great enthusiasm and pride, I extend my heartiest gratitude to our core members who worked tirelessly from dawn to dusk, went the extra mile, and even laboured through the night, driven purely by discipline, dedication, and unwavering devotion to the organisation. Your selfless and often unseen efforts form the very backbone of our party’s strength and resilience.
I also convey my sincere gratitude to all newly joined members, party functionaries, and distinguished individuals who have reposed their faith in us and become part of this collective journey. Your trust infuses renewed energy, hope, and purpose into our shared mission.
My deep gratitude goes to the 14th Foundation Day Organising Committee and every individual who contributed with dedication, respect, and selflessness to make this celebration meaningful, dignified, and successful.
From the depths of my heart, I acknowledge every worker and well-wisher who stood together as one united family. Anchored in our ideals and guided by the spirit of selfless service, we shall continue to move forward with humility, compassion, and commitment to the welfare and aspirations of the people.
I also place on record my special thanks to the distinguished dignitaries and government officials for their kind support and cooperation. The valuable contributions of every individual and well-wisher will forever remain imprinted in my heart.
Jai Sikkim !
