Gangtok,17th July: Press Club of Sikkim awarded Media persons for their accomplishments ,here today.Minister RDD Arun Upreti ,conferred the awards. One of the most promising Videographers , Chitra Bahadur Chettri better known as Rajen Chettri his professional name.Interacting with this Reporter ,CB revealed that Videography happens to be his passion

DM : How are you feeling on being given recognition ? Have you been awarded earlier?

CBC : I am really feeling happy at being awarded.I was wondering if I should think of life without Videography,part of my life till now,but the award recognising my contributions to the field has encouraged me,boosted my morale and motivated me to do still better ! Thanks to CM PS Tamang and Press Club of Sikkim!

DM: When and how did your Journey in the field start?

‘I started from 2002 onwards and mostly served local Cable TV Networks.It was as a student at School that I developed great interest in the field and was later inspired by a Videographer called Ashok Bali.’ :

DM : Any major challenging news coverage that you still remember ?

C B C: Oh yes! There are many. Fire Rhenock is still vivid in my mind.It was a deadly blaze and went all the way at night was there to cover it by midnight.Anyway it was required for public and I was so much involved in getting informative Videos for TV that I did not find it hectic.But,now when I think of it cant imagine ,while everyone is restricted to go near the fire spreading out we go ahead to cover the story.

‘Other incident that I remember : Road accident at Bagathang in which Tourists were involved. It was really touching.,having to even look at the Video again again ,while editing for the final projection.’

There are many such.

DM: Any event with VIPs ?

CBC : Yes ! When the Chief Minister was Minister earlier,I covered his tour to Jorethang,,Uttarey side was pleasant experience.

CB Chettri ‘s -( Rajen Chettri) statements prove that awards – giving due recognition to someone are really worth it ! And its not only handing over a Citation but it means a lot!( Nita Nirash)
