Gangtok: 28th Nov: Ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha Party’s Publicity. Cell President has condemned the allegations levied by opposition parties regarding SPSC results for the post of Sub Inspector. She has said ,’ Recently, CAP (Circus Acting Party) and the SDF have once again attempted to defame the SPSC Sub-Inspector recruitment process by alleging misconduct and manipulation. These allegations are not just baseless — they expose the political bankruptcy and insecurity of parties that have repeatedly failed to earn the trust of the people.
To begin with, Sikkim is a small state where people know each other personally, socially, or politically. With the ruling front enjoying the confidence of all 32 constituencies, it is obvious that individuals across various walks of life may have some form of connection or acquaintance with the government or ruling party members. But the opposition’s narrative suggests that anyone who supports the ruling front should automatically be disqualified from appearing in competitive examinations. This logic is absurd, immature, and an insult to the very idea of meritocracy.
If supporting the ruling party becomes a “crime” in the eyes of the opposition, then they must answer whether they believe competitive exams should be reserved only for their own supporters. Their argument defeats the very foundation of fairness, equality, and opportunity — principles they ironically claim to champion.
Moreover, these allegations never withstand scrutiny. Neither SPSC nor any court of law has ever endorsed their accusations, not even once. Their so-called “evidence” is mostly social media gossip, edited screenshots, and half-baked assumptions. Their entire political strategy seems to revolve around creating noise without substance. Every recruitment cycle triggers the same recycled drama, and every time, the opposition ends up embarrassing themselves in the court of public opinion.
Let us also not forget the electoral reality. Parties that secure barely six percent of the vote share and fail to win even a single panchayat seat are hardly in a position to lecture the entire state on transparency and fairness. Their inability to perform electorally has now turned into frustration, and that frustration is being channelled into Facebook campaigns, live videos, and fabricated stories designed to confuse the youth.
The irony is that these parties, who were themselves involved in decades of nepotism, corruption, and manipulation during their rule, now attempt to portray themselves as champions of honesty. The public has not forgotten the era of backdoor appointments, political favouritism, and rampant misuse of power under their leadership. Today, when the recruitment process has become more transparent, more structured, and more accountable than ever before, they are uncomfortable — because their old system of influence no longer works.
In reality, their allegations are not against SPSC or the SI recruitment; their real frustration is with the people of Sikkim who overwhelmingly rejected them in election after election. Their failure to introspect or rebuild themselves has pushed them into a cycle of negativity, rumor-mongering, and political stunts.
Instead of engaging in constructive opposition, instead of helping the youth with career guidance or awareness, they are demoralising aspirants by spreading fear, doubt, and misinformation. This is not just irresponsible — it is dangerous. It undermines the confidence of hardworking students who dedicate years of effort to crack these examinations.
The people of Sikkim are wise, and they have always responded to truth with a clear verdict. Elections will once again show where these noise-making parties actually stand. Their online theatrics may fetch temporary claps from a handful of supporters, but governance is not a circus — and the people of Sikkim do not vote based on social media drama.
When the time comes, they will realise yet again that truth, transparency, and good governance always speak louder than baseless accusations. The SPSC selection process will continue on its path of fairness and merit, and no amount of misinformation from CAP or SDF can shake the trust the people have in the institutions or in the leadership guiding the state forward.
