CAP held Peace Rally to Protest against Violence &demands CBI in State
Gangtok,29th July :Citizen Action Party held a Rally here today.The party functionaries and followers marched from Amdo Golai to the Parking place,above, District Court.
The President, CAP ,Ganesh Rai,stated that they wanted to sit on ‘Dharna’ throughout the day ,but had to quit as they were informed by the Police that they were permitted only till 1 pm.He said ,that his partymen were attacked in the premises of Police Station and they had asked for CCTV Footage ,but it has not been shown.However,the Police authorities had clarified earlier, that ‘It did not happen in the Police Station premises!’
Ganesh Rai ,said ,’We had filed FIR mentioning Lakpa Moktan,but no action has been taken.A memorandum had been submitted to the Chief Secretary also but no result.’
Rai ,went as far as claiming the CM was scared of CAP? He contradicted the ruling authority statement that CAP had stage managed the attack themselves .tHowever the concerned authorities representing ruling Govt have said that’ as they have been mandated by majority ,there is no reason why they should be afraid of anyone with hardly 6%.,”
The peace rally demanded ‘CBI entry to Sikkim for investigating Crime,violence and corruption.They demanded an end to service extension immediately,Resignation of Minister Sonam Lama (RDD) for alleged land scam and immediate restoration of Rule of Law and Peace in Sikkim.
Ganesh Rai ,said ‘Now since we are not being heard we are going to public,we are going to make them aware that they have to come forward to protect democracy.
Earlier,one of the leaders of CAP,T R Sharma, leading the procession to begin with from Amdo Golai ,before President Ganesh Rai joined from different point , said it was a peace rally protesting all the incidents ( adverse) so far. and reported administrative failure. NN
