Gangtok,7th Nov:BJP Spokesperson Smt. Pooja Sharma has raised serious concerns over the alarming contamination scandal in a packaged drinking water. Recently a consumer complaint exposed deadly bacteria in flavoured mint water, prompting the Namchi Food Safety Cell to ban the product under the FSS Act, 2006.
Smt. Sharma also criticized the state’s blanket ban on water bottles below 2 liters, enforced since January 2022, raising questions over the continuing production of water by the factories owned by their close supporters.
Puja Sharma, further raised concern over massive irregularities in the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the state of Sikkim, which was supposed to aim at universal tap connections by 2024, envisioned by the BJP Government in the Centre.
