Anna , the Kalimpong ‘Mata’
While returning from a monastery in Delo,Kalimpong ,we were told about a “Mata” who has recommended a particular Lama( monk).So next morning we decided to visit her place to express gratitude.
The lady came out to open the door leading us (a group of 3 friends) to her sitting room.I was feeling awkward as did not know how to react.My friend thanked her for telling us about the Delo monk,as her son continued to be sick even after a long period of medication and specially as the monk is well known for his healing powers.
Anna,a very frank lady, had entangled streaks of hair coming out with normally seen hair. I asked about anything that could have been done without effort. Subsequently she started from very begining, trying to hint that ‘ It was descent of a deity upon her’ ,that made her so different.Anna,said’, My grandmother was told in her dream that one of her granddaughters would be possessed by the Goddess (worshipped by the family then).She guessed that it was my elder sister.But later was told that it was I .I was recognised as the special one.’
‘It was only from 1999 that I started feeling different and talking instantly to anyone I faced .’ It was then that she went into trance occasionally.
‘As I took up a job and was mostly accompanied by colleagues going to office and returning ,they used to tell me to control myself and not to start off with my predictions !or say anything about anyone faced on the road,they too found it embarrassing,’added Anna.Now people go to her for prediction.
