Gangtok:24th Feb: Somnath Adhikari leading All Sikkim Govt Drivers Association,expressed gratitude towards Union Minister for Home Affairs for declaring ‘Drivers’ to be addressed as the ‘ Sarathis’ now onwards throught India. ‘ We are also thankful to Union’s Y Nageshwar Rao and GS for it.Now we are looking forward to the day when 27th July would be declared as the ‘Chalak Samman Diwas’ for whole India.It was on the occasion of Bharat Taxi Ratna Sammelan,that Minister Amit Shah cited example from Mahabharat where Arjun was Krishna’s Sarathi.We are happy because our CM PS Tamang long time back announced us to be ‘Sarathis’ and now whole countey will be doing so.’
Adhikari was accompanied by all the members of executive.
ASGDA has also thanked CM PS Tamang and S Wangdup , Chalak W Board.We are really proud to be Chalaks’,’ said Adhikari.
