Relationship between media and Electoral authorities significant: Pema L .Lama ACEO
Gangtok,24th June : Additional Chief Electoral Officer,Pema Lhaden Lama convened a meeting ,here today,with all the top media houses ,different platforms.She was accompanied by Joint Electoral Officer Himmat Rai,at the meeting held consequent upon directions of Chief Election Commissioner of India.
The ACEO ,highlighted the significance of building relationship of trust between media and the Electoral authorities,in order to outreach the public.She emphasised the need to disseminate electoral activities/notes via media platforms,after cross checking ,so that the right messages are spread.
The meeting was a step further towards ‘ strengthening the Election Commission of India’s engagement with regional media and to build robust communication network to enhance electoral awareness’.
ACEO cum State Media Nodal Officer for Sikkim,Pema Lhaden urged media for always ensuring unbiased electoral news.And looking forward to space in all the print and digital media ,asked all to forward related stories (copy clippings/ page ) as the Office of CEO Sikkim has been archiving election related news/editorials since long..She was pleased to answer all the questions posed by the media ,mostly Editors /AIR .
