Gangtok:3rd Oct: Many ‘ Aamas'( mothers)have been observed encashing their cheques at State Bank of Sikkim . After getting ‘Aama Yojna benefit on Tuesday ,they were blessing CM.They had been informed already and are looking forward to celebrating Dasshai( Dashera) festival happily.
‘ We are going to disburse Aama yojna incentive. All of us are going to our constituencies to give away the cheques.I have 1600 but only 1000 of mothers are to be given so 600 have to be struck off. We have been given990 cheques.Some child less married girls have been asking for aama yojana.But if they dont have children , all we can do is pray for them to be blessed with a child each. As per norms they cant be given , ‘ said Minister for Agriculture, Puran Kumar Gurung .
Sarita Pradhan and Lakshmi Rajput ,were happy to share that they have been asked by MLAs to be present at their offices for getting the cheque.Sarita Pradhan ,invited by representatives of Minister for Health GT Dhungel said ‘, I am really grateful to CM for starting this scheme.We have been finding it very useful.I have been keeping it in bank and taking out only when required.However Lakshmi said. ‘ I cant keep in bank .I have to run the household ,but I use it properly.Its really a boon!
All the Constituencies saw aamas getting benefit.Each constituency has 1000 aamas ,while Sangha Lama has 500 Nuns ( anni haru) they will also be given.
According to Govt sources Rs 64 crores will be given out in all.Each aama will get Rs 20000/- cheque.This has been done before Dashai to give some relief at the behest of CM PS Tamang.
