Gangtok:21st : During the 2nd day of SLA session ,CM PS Tamang ,expressed condolences to the bereaved families of NHPC Tunnel victims.This was preceded by 2 minutes silent tribute by the House.CM , assured the House that ex-gratia assistance would be provided to the families of the deceased and the injured as per NDRF norms. He ,also informed the House that the State Government is closely monitoring the situation and extending all possible support. ‘
CM said ‘I remain grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah , for their concern and assurance of every possible assistance’.
The Session after 11 was presided over by Deputy Speaker Raj Kumari Thapa.The House saw passing of the Sikkim Medical Council for Indian System of Medicine Bill, 2026, and the National Council for Skill Education, Sikkim (Repealing) Bill, 2026, adopted the Motion of Thanks on the Governor’s Address, and took up the General Budget 2026–27 along with the Separate Demands for Grants. Discussion on the Budget will be held subsequently.
