Gangtok:24th June : ‘The Bharatiya Janata Party, Geyzing District, has taken serious note of the recent statement made by MLA Smt. Kala Rai, regarding the BJP-SKM alliance in the forthcoming Panchayat elections, which are still nearly eighteen months away,’ according to the communique issued by BJP ,Geyzing Distt.
At a time when the people of Sikkim expect their elected representatives to focus on governance, implementation of budgetary commitments, developmental works, public service delivery, and the pressing concerns of the people, it is surprising that attempts are being made to divert public attention towards speculative political discussions about elections that remain far in the future.
The BJP and SKM are alliance partners both in Sikkim and at the national level. Any matter concerning the nature, scope, or future of the alliance is the prerogative of the leadership of the respective parties and is decided through mutual consultation and understanding in the larger interest of the people of Sikkim. Individual statements and personal conjectures do not determine the course of such political decisions.
The people of Sikkim deserve answers on issues that directly affect their daily lives—employment opportunities, infrastructure development, quality public services, economic growth, and effective implementation of government programmes. Premature political commentary on future electoral arrangements serves little purpose other than creating unnecessary confusion and diverting attention from the real issues facing the State.
BJP believes that politics should be centred on performance, accountability, and development, not on speculation and political posturing. We therefore urge responsible public representatives to focus their energies on fulfilling the aspirations of the people rather than engaging in discussions that have no immediate relevance to governance and public welfare.
The Bharatiya Janata Party remains committed to constructive politics, development-oriented governance, and working tirelessly for the welfare and progress of the people of Sikkim, according to Media Cell BJP Geyzing District.
