Gangtok:8th June: Special Intensive Revision for electoral rolls has been going on since 30th May2026.The Block Level Officer(s) with their assistants are looking out for forms to be filled up by the citizens , only to be returned to them soon after filling up name of elector and 2 recent photos, father/ mother’s name , relative’s name,EPIC number of self,father,mother/ guardian as also of spouse.Finally Constituency number.
One such centre at Tibet Road,much crowded had four persons dealing with public. The BLO, himself carried out the signing of forms from 2 .pm onwards , (signing the forms and giving out)’.Which served as a great relief to those who were looking forward to it.
Next centre at Janata Bhawan,diesel power house road also had all the arrangements for those who Voted at PNGSS last time.BLO Neelam Rai , was seen helping out those who could not fill up forms. The BLO called up those who had not turned up to collect form .
However the State Election office is aspiring to complete SIR of 4. Lakhs 73 Thousand and 18 voters by given time also digitize them .
However it has been learnt that door to door visit by BLOs is not feasible,as people with one address in a place ,work are not always there ,so in order to cover all.
