Gangtok:8th June: Residents of the Temi Tarku area have been facing severe hardships due to a prolonged power outage that has persisted since June 2 following a major storm that struck the region, according to a reliable source.
According to local residents, the storm reportedly damaged power lines, resulting in frequent disruptions in electricity supply. While power is occasionally restored, it often lasts for only about half an hour before being cut off again.
The continued outage has affected students preparing for examinations, disrupted business activities, and caused difficulties in carrying out daily household tasks. Residents say the situation has become increasingly challenging as the power supply remains unreliable.
Concerned residents have raised complaints regarding the issue and have urged the concerned department to take the matter seriously and restore a stable electricity supply at the earliest.
Authorities are yet to issue a detailed statement on the restoration timeline.
