Gangtok:28th May: Sikkim Body Builders Association, is gearing up for organising Mr Sukhim contest . President of the Association MLA Kala Rai, announced here in a Curtain Raiser , that Mr Sukhim Championship will be held on 7th June’26 . The Championship will be organised in Marina hall of SMIT Majhitar, Rangpo. Junior category competition will be there as also male / female, ‘She added
‘We want to promote the game and ensure good health for youth,’ she added further. We are looking forward to host a national level Body Building Championship in due course of time,’ added MLA Rai .
General Secretary to the BB Association,affiliated to Indian Bodybuilding Federation ,Pema D Bhutia,highlighted the reason behind choosing Majhitar as the venue for Championship ‘ Its to minimise Drug abuse among youth for healthy life and evil habits in the area.’
About different categories of Championahip, he said , ‘ Besides Mr Sukhim all other categorioes of contest inculde ,below 21 years Physique contest for both men and women.5 main categories include ,55,60 ,65 ,70 ,75 and above ‘.
Mr Sukhim ,the Senior category,as is obvious from the title will be a close event,only for those holding SSC and RC.’
While Women / Men Physique category is open event, anyone from across the country below 21 years of age can contest’,added GS.
GS Pema,said ,the Championship on 7th would be a trial selection also,we will be sending the winners to Nationals to be held pn 12-13th June Federation Cup.Winners from that level participate in International level.’The BBASikkim has already organised contests in Namchi and Jorethang also in the past with the support of CM PS Tamang and MLA Kala Rai , according to General Secretary of Body Building Association.
