Gangtok/Darj:11th April: MP Raju Bista ,has highlighted the ‘ Sankalp letter’, published by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah,for Bharatiya Janata Party West Bengal.
‘This is not just our attitude, but concrete and committed promises made to the people of the state.’ He has extended heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for this visionary and pioneering manifesto, which Bista said ,’will bring positive change in the lives of the people of Darjeeling hills, Terai, Doovers and the entire state.’
‘For Darjeeling hills, Terai and Doovers we are committed to a permanent political solution that honors local aspirations within the constitutional format,’ said MP Bista.
‘Each tea garden worker will be given ownership of their land. ‘Tea Labour Development Board’ will be established for minimum wage, quality healthcare, modern housing and social security.’
‘Monthly ₹3000 financial assistance will be provided for women empowerment, ₹50,000 grant to each student enrolled in college, and 33% reservation for women in state employment. Thus, we will ensure respectable monthly wages for Anganwadi, animal friends and hope workers. We will establish safe hostels for working women in every district.’
‘One crore employment will be created for youth and ₹3000 aid will be provided to unemployed youth every month. Candidates affected by the recruitment process will be given discount at the age of 5. Dearness
Allowance (DA) and Seventh Pay Commission will be implemented for government employees and pensioners.’
‘North Bengal will no longer be neglected as a whole. AIIMS (AIIMS) and dedicated cancer hospital will be built in North Bengal, so our people don’t have to go to remote cities for advanced treatment. Addressing the requirement of high quality education we will establish IIT and IIM (IIM) in North Bengal, which will provide world class technical and management education right here. Sports University and Tribal University will also be established, encouraging players, sportsmen and students in tribal-dominated areas like us.’
‘To preserve indigenous language and heritage, we will include Rajbanshi and Kurmali language in the eighth schedule of the Constitution. To preserve our cultural heritage, we will promote regional literature, arts, music, dance, drama and culture and provide special grants to establish regional cultural centers’.
‘We will provide financial aid of ₹9000 to all farmers for living production assistance. We will build cold storage facilities (cold storage) and processing centers on each block, which will protect farmers’ produce fruits, vegetables, dairy and fish. We will support farmers fair price and register all fishermen under PM Fisheries Heritage Scheme.’
‘Our pride Darjeeling tea will be resurrected. Small tea growers will be given mini processing unit and direct market access.’
‘We will develop Darjeeling as the premier environmental, adventure and heritage tourism hub. Develop Doovers as a forest, wildlife and tribal tourism center, which will preserve our natural heritage by creating employment in environmental resorts and guided tours.’
‘A new national highway will directly connect Darjeeling with Sundarban, opening a new economic corridor connecting North and South Bengal. We will develop four new cities in North Bengal and focus on the overall development of the region, ending the neglect our region has faced for years.’
‘Modern infrastructure, transparent governance and full implementation of all central government plans including Khelo India, Ayushman Bharat and PM Housing scheme will finally reach every corner of our region.’
‘Additionally, BJP will take strict action against infiltration to protect national security. We will issue a white letter exposing 15 years of corruption of Trinamool Congress. We will end the syndicate rule and cut-money system protected by the grassroots.’
‘We will implement uniform civil code in the state and make strict laws to prevent cow smuggling. We will establish the Vande Mataram Museum and enforce the law ensuring freedom of religious practice.’
