Gangtok/Kurseong:2nd April: MP Darjeeling Raju Bista ,along with BJP Alliance leaders, addressed a massive Nomination Rally in Kurseong, in support of BJP Alliance candidate, Sonam Lama. About the candidate he said ,’Sonam’s journey inspires me. From his days as student leader to working tirelessly for the people of Kurseong constituency, he has exemplified the best of political ideals. Despite facing harassment under the Trinamool Congress government, he has never stepped back from serving the people of our region.’
‘The hardworking people of Kurseong hills, Terai and Dooars yearn for real change. People want to live with dignity, with their heads held high. They want fairness, respect, and the same opportunities as every other citizen. Parents want better education for their children, young people want jobs close to home, and families want access to quality healthcare without having to travel to the plains. There is also a strong need to see tourism, tea, and local industries grow and thrive again’.
According to MP Raju Bista , ‘After 15 years of TMC rule, these aspirations have remain unfulfilled. The people of our region have been forced to live a marginalized and discriminated life. Corrupt, nepotistic recruitment scams, neglect of schools and hospitals, misused development funds, and rampant youth unemployment have caused frustration and migration. The education sector, which used to be the identity and the backbone of Kurseong has today become stagnant, and the economic growth too has stalled. Worst of all, TMC government has treated Gorkhas like the second-class citizens.’
‘The BJP Alliance guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ,is committed to ensuring Constitutional Solution for the region, to guarantee and respect the identity and aspirations of the people from our Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars region’,said Bista.
‘We will create employment opportunities for our youths, and we will also ensure a corruption-free, merit-based recruitment with priority for local youths in local offices. We will upgrade educational institutions into centers of excellence, establish modern healthcare facilities, and boost tourism, and tea sectors. We will develop infrastructure at a rapid pace, and provide honest, corruption free and transparent governance,’ said MP Bista.
‘With BJP’s double-engine model, Kurseong will grow into a thriving hub of opportunity and prosperity for it’s people’.
MP has requested ‘ the people of Kurseong constituency to vote for BJP Alliance Candidate Sonam Lama and strengthen the hands of PM Modi in bringing true transformation in the region and the state.’
