Gangtok:31st March:Economic Adviser , Union Ministry, of Panchayati Raj Dr Bijaya Kumar Behera ( Indian Economic Service), has announced that ‘Gyalsing Omchung Gram Panchayat’, has been awarded on securing 3rd rank, 2025 .
The Gram Panchayat’ in question is the awardee of Din Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puruskar. The award has been given under the theme ‘Poverty Free & Enhanced Livelihood Panchayat’for the year 2025.
On the occasion,Chief Minister PS Tamang had expressed happiness.He has said , ‘ A proud moment for Sikkim as Gyalshing Omchung Gram Panchayat has been honoured with the prestigious Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar (Rank 3) for 2025 under the theme “Poverty-Free & Enhanced Livelihoods Panchayat.”
‘This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication, vision, and collective efforts of the Panchayat and its people in driving inclusive growth and sustainable livelihoods. It also highlights the proactive role of the State Government in extending continuous support, guidance, and enabling policies to strengthen grassroots governance and rural development.’
