Sikkim to Have Women manned Polling Booths also
Gangtok:23rd March: State Election Commissioner KC Lepcha , has brought about some changes in the system.The State is gearing up for the electoon to the Urban Local Bodies.The polls will be held on 24th April, 121 Polling Stations will be put up .Lepcha,joined by Additional SE S.Muktan.
Women feel honoured to hear that women manned polling booth/ station , is in the offing! It is a huge empowerment.
Other important changes in the system consist of Use of ramp for PWDs, Wheel Chairs for them as well as for the Senior citizens. Water , electric supply, and a shed is being made, toilets also are being assured.! NGOs and Volunteers are expected to come forward to help out Old, sick and People with disabilities for casting their vote.
