Gangtok:28th Feb:Chief Minister PS Tamang decribing the launching of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination by PM Narendra Modi ,today as ‘ a landmark step towards safeguarding the health and future of our young daughters’ ,launched the HPV drive for Sikkim also.It is a vaccination campaign for girls aged 14 years. CM Tamang, joined ‘this historic occasion via video conference ‘.
According to Sikkim CM ,’This transformative initiative will annually benefit approximately 1.15 crore girls across all States and Union Territories, marking a decisive stride in the prevention of cervical cancer and the promotion of women’s health. The vaccine will be administered free of cost at designated Government health facilities, ensuring equitable access and inclusive outreach’.
CM Tamang,has urged everyone to come forward and actively raise awareness about the importance of HPV vaccination.
In his appeal CM had said , ‘ Let us work together to educate families, encourage eligible girls to avail themselves of this free preventive healthcare service, and dispel any misconceptions surrounding the vaccine. Collective awareness today will lead to a healthier and stronger nation tomorrow. ‘
