Gangtok:3rd Jan:( Nita Nirash) Due to Snowfall at Tsongmu( Changu) located at an altitude of 12313 ft / 3753 meters from the sea level,on Saturday, the Tourists who had gone in the morning enjoyed at their level best. The Winter known as the off season for Tourism Industry earlier has come to change.This winter the town is over crowded all the tourists plan to go to Tsongmu and Lachen Lachung to see snow .Due to Snowfall at higher altitude Gangtok experienced 3 degree temperature .
‘ It was amazing experience at Lachung,subsequently yesterday we went to Tsongmu’, said a tourist couple from Surat,Gujrat .They liked the system of market operations here.And said it’s good that the shopkeepers don’t close down for 2-3 hours in the afternoon,here ,while in our State they close down in the afternoon and reopen in the evening.We liked the MG Marg most and the gift items sold here,’ said the wife.
However those who had gone to Tsongmu,had to stay back ,due to Snowfall and for safety.One of the Hotel Receptionist said ,’No one has returned’.
It is to be mentioned that IT BP and Indian Army always provide overnight Shelter,Food and Medicines( if required )to strand|d tourists,without charging them for anything.
