CM Chairs Maghey Sankranti Meeting

Gangtok 29th Dec: Maghey Sankranti Mela Jorethang,is all set to begin and pilgrims also looking forward to take holy dip in the river there.

State Govt of Sikkim,is preparing for a grand Mela in which is Cultural and Religious.The final coordination meeting for the Maghey Sankranti Mela 2026 ,chaired by CM PS Tamang was held here on Monday.The Maghey mela will be held at Jorethang,South Sikkim.

CM has announced that ‘It will be held for nine days, from 14th to 22nd January, marking 71 years of this historic celebration. This year’s expanded programme reflects our rich heritage, unity, and shared responsibility.’
‘The sacred Sandhya Aarati will be held throughout all nine days’

CM Tamang launched the of the official mela website, brochure, table tent ,he was joined by other dignitaries . Of ficial logo and fixtures of the All India Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Football Tournament, featuring 16 teams from across the country has also been launched. Inter-constituency football matches, rural sports, and marathons will also be part of the celebrations.

CM has said,’ I appreciate the dedication of all committees involved and urge departments and citizens of the Salghari Zoom Constituency to participate responsibly and wholeheartedly to make Maghey Sankranti Mela 2026 a truly memorable and nationally recognised festival.’

The most attractive part of the Mela will be performance by winners of singing competition,dancing, band competition exclusively for talented artists from Sikkim.
