Siliguri: 28th Dec: Darjeeling MP Raju Bista attended a cultural program commemorating the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram,today.’Programme was organized by BJP Siliguri at the Siliguri Nirman Vidyajyoti School Ground in Ward No. 43.
MP appreciated the programme and said ,’It was a truly inspiring evening filled with music, performances, and a deep sense of patriotism’.
Highlighting ‘Vande Mataram,’ Bista said,’penned by the legendary Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1875 as part of his novel Anandamath, it is more than just a song, it’s a powerful ode to Mother India. The song symbolizes love, devotion, and sacrifice for the motherland. Over the past 150 years, it has ignited the hearts of millions during the independence movement and continues to resonate as a beacon of national pride.’
