Gangtok,18th Dec:’Highest per capita GSDP in India’, has been highlighted by CAG,in the audit Report Sikkim ,for the year ended 2023.The strong economic growth has also emerged.
According to CAG ,’The Gross State Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices rose to Rs 48,973 crore in 2023-24. with 14.67%growth in Outpacing India’s GDP growth rate of 9.60%.’
GDSP -Per Capita has been measured at Rs 707,181 in which has been described as CAG , ‘Three times the national average of Rs 211725’. And of course highest in India.
Based on this part of the CAG report ,it can be considered an encouraging picture presented by the present PS Tamang, CM led Govt. As it means economy is progressing, under good governance and Industrial progress is also good.
Not only that it also happens when political stability is there.It is well known that Sikkim is so far peaceful with political stability.Best of all Sikkim has low Political Pollution AQI also contributing to growth
Yet taking into account different parts CAG has recommended Govt to ‘strengthen fiscal management’ to meet FRBM act targets for deficit and debts’. They have been asked to curb savings and underutilised funds. Ensure Power Deptt and others revenues are deposited into consolidated funds.(NN).
