Provision of Rs 5 Lakhs for 132 entrepreneurs not loaned but a grant comes as a bonanza from CM Tamang
Gangtok,21stAugust: Chief Minister of Sikkim,launches ‘Mukhya Mantri Yuva Udyamsheelta Vikash Yojna,coinciding with the World Entrepreneur Day.,here today.
Chief Minister’s brain child ‘One Family One Entrepreneur ‘ has been encouraging unemployed youth to start businesses of one kind or other.Now,the new scheme ,Chief Minister’s Entrepreneurship Development for Youth,has come up as a windfall for aspiring youth.
‘ Youth aspiring to start business will be granted financial assistance upto Rs 5 Lakhs ( 50% first instalment) to do it.But,they should start sustainable business.Any local willing to start business would be helped out.Before the grant is given out a survey will be conducted about their business and once the concerned are satisfied about it ,50% of the financial grant will be given out,’ said CM PS Tamang addressing the auditorium full of budding entrepreneurs.
CM Tamang said, ‘Dont panic,later we will implement the scheme constituencywise.If performance is good ,we will allocate a separate budget for it.’
‘ We will tend (take care) promising sapling which bloom and not something like dry maize plant. Follow Vocal for Local,be employer,no need to run after govt jobs with limited opportunity’
CM cited examples of Ambanis,and urged Youth to be inspired by businessmen in Sikkim,doing well.CM urged Youth to take up the business of their choice and not under the influence of others.
Earlier ,he felicitated 3 female entrepreneurs they will be given Rs 5 Lakhs after 7 days..
If any Sikkim’s domiciled entrepreneur or aspirant is 21 years old or above and has a trade license / certificate from Panchayat for those in Livestock or Agriculture based business,he /she will be considered for financial help.Those who have already taken it/ PMEGP/PMFME/SYSS will not be given grant.
The Orphans, differently abled , BPL/Economically backward /Rural Households would be given preference for financial grant.
Most important part is those with innovative business ideas will also be given priority.
