Gangtok,18th August: The Political Secretary to CM,has stated ,that a meeting at Centre is scheduled regarding recognition of 12 left out Communities of Sikkim as the Tribals.
However , it is to be made known here that 4 communities are already Tribals viz Bhutia,Lepcha,Limboo and Tamang’s,while the rest ( left out) have been looking forward to it ,due to similar circumstances,background and social fabric.
‘A historic and decisive moment awaits in Delhi, as a high-level meeting will be convened under the chairmanship of Chief Minister ,Prem Singh Tamang (Golay). This meeting is expected to mark a major milestone in the journey of Sikkim towards becoming a Tribal State, thereby addressing the long-pending demands and aspirations of the people of Sikkim.’
Khaling added , CM Prem Singh Tamang , led Government , has been making relentless efforts to ensure justice, equity, and inclusive development for all communities. The progress achieved so far is a testament to his unwavering commitment to safeguard the interests of every Sikkimese citizen.

With the active participation of senior officials from the Social Welfare Department and the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), all preparations are underway to make it a grand success. ‘
