The 79th Independence Day of our great nation was celebrated today with pride and patriotic fervor at the National Capital, New Delhi, by members of the Sikkimese community currently working and residing in the city. The gathering came together not only to mark this historic day but also to remember and honor the countless sacrifices made by our freedom fighters in India’s long and arduous struggle for independence.
The program witnessed the presence of National Coordinator Pobin Hang Subba, General Secretary (National Coordination) P.R. Subba, and other distinguished members of the community. Together, they paid homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s freedom and reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the democratic values and unity of the country.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders emphasized the importance of carrying forward the spirit of patriotism, national integration, and public service.
The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, a reaffirmation of the shared resolve to contribute towards building a stronger, more inclusive India( as per delayed communique).
