243 Assembly Constituencies in Bihar undergoing Special Intensified Revision to determine eligibilty of Electors

Special Intensified Revision Verifying Eligibility of Electors starts in 243 Assembly Constituencies in Bihar
Gangtok,28th June : It is well known that Bihar Assembly will be due for elections before 22nd November 2025.In view of the same all the required preparations are underway.
Election Commission of India,headed by Chief Election Commissioner of India, Gyanesh Kumar, has started Special Intensified Revision (SIR) .According to ECI , Article 320 specifies eligibility to become an elector.Only Indian citizens above 18 year and ordinary residents residing in the constituency are eligible. In keeping with the Constitutional provisions , SIR has been started for verifying the eligibility of each elector ,with full participation of all the political parties.
In the process of election,manpower is also required at the Booth level.’ECI already has 77895 Booth level officers (BLOs) and is appointing nearly 20,603 more BLOs for new polling stations.
The Old ,sick,persons with disabilities ,poor and other vulnerable electors ,will be assisted by more than One Lakh of volunteers in a bid to complete Special Intensified Revision for genuine electors.
154977 Booth Level Agents have been appointed by recognised National and other Political parties ,registered with the Election Commission of India.They can appoint still more.
Out of the existing 78969844 electors,4.96 crore electors ,whose names are already in the last Intensified Revision of Electoral Rolls on 1.1 .2003 have to simply verify .They have been asked to fill in the Enumeration Forms and submit.
Printing as well as door to door distribution of New Enumeration Forms (EF) for all the existing 78969844 electors of Bihar has already started in each of the 243 Assembly Constituencies of Bihar . Online filing of the new Enumeration Forma has been enabled and has already started successfully.
‘All the Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates are engaging all the BLOs full time during the ongoing SIR.SMSs are also being sent to the 57407 022 registered mobile numbers of Bihar’,according to ECI.
