
District Collectorate participates in weekly Farming in Pakyong Sikkim
In a very unprecedented way the Pakyong District administration ,has been taking time out to bring back farming community to fields.
On the 40th Friday of Mission Revival of fallow / barren land,MLA Pamin Lepcha,also visited the agrarian land,where maize cultivation has been flourishing.Its a feather in the cap of district Collectorate to get the uncultivated agrarian land converted to maize fields.
In addition to maize ,the millet cultivation is being initiated.The implementation and monitoring is being done by DC office .
According to Assistant Distt Collector( development),Robin Sewa,’90,% of the villagers have started farming.Main aim is to strengthen availability of agricultural produce in the area,bringing about positive changes.’
And to pursue Chief Minister PS Tamang’s concept ‘Connect Earth- Sweat Contribution’.Further, to motivate Panchayats,employees,officers of different administrative wings of Govt in Pakyong to participate ; fostering deeper connection between earth and humans.
As many farmers happened to stop cultivation in their fields ,the CM has been appealing people not to leave a y land they own uncultivated.
