
Sikkim should go beyond hill station towards global destination: PM Modi
Gangtok,29th May: Prime Minister Narendra Modi,inaugurated the Golden Jubilee programme in commemorating Statehood of Sikkim ,virtually today Once he reached Bagdogra airport ( North Bengal )he did it from there .
Prime Minister, addressing the huge public gathering ,Governor and of course the Legislators said, ‘he just wanted to be in Sikkim but due to inclement weather he could not make it.
Highlighting the ways for more employment/ livelihood opportunities,PM mentioned Fisheries and Tourism.
‘Union Govt is starting First ever Organic Fisheries cluster project in Sikkim.The( Trout )fish project would be started in Soreng Distt,West Sikkim.There is huge demand for Organic Fish.And it will create opportunity for youth,’ said PM.
‘Sikkim needs to go beyond just a hill station towards global tourism destination.Sikkim has unparalleled capacity.It is a complete package of tourism.It has nature and spiritualism both.’
State has tremendous potential for adventure & sports’ tourism. Mountain biking,trekking and high altitude training can be done here easily.’
‘We have envisioned developing Sikkim into hub of Conference Tourism,Wellness Tourism and Concert Tourism,’ added PM
‘ I want renowned artists to come to Gangtok and perform in the place.Let it be globally said that Sikkim is the only place where nature and culture go together,’ said PM in a very inspiring tone,amid a big applause!
