Gangtok,May : The most alluring exhibition going on at MG Marg here has different communities displaying cultural heritage.Akhil Kirat Rai is one of them.Led by Dr SK Rai.He has been joined by Youth wing Prez M Tholung.Tholung ‘s stall served ‘ Wachipa’ the cuisine unique to Kirat Rai’s, to Chief Guest ,Deputy Speaker Raj Kumari Thapa & Special Australian guest.Consul General of Australia ,Kolkata,Hugh Boylan and Ms Anagha.
Wachipa’,made of powder of burnt feathers of chiken with rice and minced meat is one of the traditional dishes of the Rai community, informed Tholung.It was loved by visitors to the stall.
Other exhibits at the stall ,introduced by Tholung were button flowers made of wool and beads,a musical instrument and other items used for religious rituals.
The exhibition organized by Culture Deptt ,Govt of Sikkim,as part of the Kuzu festival is a part of Celebrations to mark 50th year of Statehood of Sikkim.
