Gangtok/ Darj:8th April :MP Raju Bista ,participated in the election campaign in support of BJP coalition candidate ,Noman Rai from Darjeeling Assembly constituency.
Addressing the gathering he said , ‘Bijanbari is one of the biggest blocks in Bengal. This is food store in Darjeeling, Terai and Dooars area. The sector, which is rich in organic production and carrying a legacy of great Gorkha writers and thinkers is filled with immense possibilities for tourism and economic development. But the TMC government has not allowed this possibility to come true. GTA drivers are focused only on personal gain, they have no concern for public welfare.’
MP pointed out , ‘2025 landslides and floods have exposed their ( Govt) complete failure. Entire electricity area was cut after the collapse of Pulbazar bridge, police station line village is still isolated and many families have lost their homes. No relief found in areas like Fanchetar and Fedi river, roads are still damaged and public grounds are buried by landslide in Lodhoma. State government and GTA both remained absent.’2
Contrary to this, the BJP and our coalition leaders reached out to the affected families. Reached remote villages and stood with the victim families. We approved funding for infrastructure rebuilding, but the TMC government has withheld those funds till date. Despite this, our workers reached door to door and engaged in relief distribution.
Healthcare has been completely neglected in the entire Bijanbari block. Road, education and traffic have been neglected. Here education, communication (connectivity), the roads are neglected. The people of our hilly region are forced to suffer eternally.
But through central government schemes, progress is being made in the Bijanbari block. 230 km rural road has been constructed under PMGSY at the cost of Rs 173 crore. Roads connecting Kainjle to Mane Bhanjyang (via Thursday-railing), Bijanbari to Lodhoma (via Kainjle) and Lebong to Yanku are under construction. More than 2050 homes have been built under PMAY-Rural. Water connection for 12715 homes has been approved under the “Water Every House” scheme.
MP Bista assured the gathering, ‘ We will create better road and connectivity, tourism development, strong disaster management, support farmers, quality education for students and employment for youth in the coming days. We will implement Seventh Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission) for government employees and provide related facilities. We will provide paraja lease rights to tea garden employees and immediately implement the new labor code once the government is formed. Our people of Darjeeling hills, Terai and Doars deserve justice, respect, development and good governance. For real change I invite every voter in Bijanbari area to support BJP coalition to make. Noman Rai victorious’ ;.
