
32 members of Parliamentary Standing Committee on 5-Day Official Visit to Sikkim
Gangtok:28th June:The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture, led by Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) cum National Working President of Janata Dal (U) cum Chairman of the Committee , Sanjay Kumar Jha, arrived at Bagdogra Airport today on way to Sikkim.The study visit to Sikkim from June 28 to July 2, 2025,will be centred round different deptts.
Chairman of the Committee ,Sanjay Kumar Jha is accompanied by 31 other Members of Parliament (Rajya Sabha).
During their stay in Sikkim, the Committee is scheduled to hold meetings with officials from the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Roads and Bridges Department, and the Cultural Affairs and Heritage Department. The visit will focus on tourism infrastructure in Sikkim, the development and maintenance of national highways, and the promotion of cultural heritage and local and indigenous art.
The delegation was warmly received at Bagdogra Airport by Assistant Protocol Officer, Home Department, Gangtok Gopal Pathak, senior officials from the Home Department Bagdogra Unit and officials from the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Bagdogra.(Inputs : Siliguri unit of IPR Sikkim).
