Medical Aid to Dam Construction workers
Gangtok,1st Jan : 11 civilian workers engaged with Kundan Green Energy at the Rabon Chu hydro-electric project reported to the MI Room, 327 Fd Hosp at Chungthang, with complaints of vomiting following consumption of a boiled wild plant, believed to be consumed inadvertently as food. According to their statements this plant closely resembles Blumea balsamifera commonly called as Sambong plant.
The patients experienced multiple episodes of vomiting, with severity varying based on the quantity consumed. All patients were promptly assessed and treated with administration of medicines and fluids both orally and intravenously.
Following medical management and observation, all patients recovered fully from 30th to 31st Jan and were discharged in stable condition after their symptoms subsided, according to PRO Defence .
